Three films look at how people in countries around the world are feeling the bitter effects of globalisation. Detroit, home to General Motors multinational carmaker, was once the fifth largest city in the US but is now finding its economy devastated by globalisation and the financial crisis. In China which once was a booming supplier of cheap goods to the world is now seeing factories close, workers fired and sent back to their villages. In Europe, mobile phone-maker Nokia is moving production from Germany to Romania with major social effects for both countries.
