Both the South African government and the private sector have recognized the invaluable role that information and communication technology (ICT) plays in national economic development, and this study provides a detailed analysis of that link. Through an examination of South African education and select training providers, it looks at the current supply and demand for intermediate-level ICT skills in South Africa, explaining how they can result in social and economic development for the nation.
