Summary

This case study describes a process undertaken by a group of researchers and video-workers working with herders in the remote regions of Northeastern Lesotho. It examines the debates raised by visual anthropology and ethnographic film-making and the methods and practice of 'Community Video' theory. The book gives a firsthand account of -- and reflection on -- the field work situation. It explores the relations between researchers and the subject community, the production process and the development of the finished product.
