This study examines the political foundations and implications of the industrial and economic transformation of south east Asia in the last 20 years. Discusses changing political alignments and social organisation, and identifies central theoretical issues, focusing on Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam. Includes a bibliography and an index. A hardback edition is also available. The contributors are academics in fields such as politics and economics.
