Summary
This book, in its third edition, while retaining the contents and style of the earlier editions, continues to explain the various techniques of control and conversion of electric power using solid state power devices. Industrial applications of these devices are discussed with circuit diagrams-some of which are colour circuit diagrams-and also the associated waveforms.
The distinguishing feature of this book is the simplified and methodical explanation of circuit operations and the coverage of a wide range of modern industrial circuits. Every chapter end has a section containing a number of multiple choice questions, true or false statements, review questions and problems, which will reinforce the student's comprehension.
New to this edition: Addition of new sections and several modifications in chapters 1, 2, 3 and 11 make the book more comprehensive and updated. Many worked-out examples are included in the text. Some additional questions are included at the end of chapters 1, 2 and 3.
